Family matters, resolved with discretion

Divorce, maintenance, custody, and the division of property — handled steadily, and settled out of court where that serves you better.

How we help

Family matters are rarely only legal. They are also financial, practical, and hard. Our job is to reduce the number of things you have to carry: to tell you plainly what the law provides, what a realistic outcome looks like, and what it will cost to get there.

Ms. Phillips is an accredited mediator, trained by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in London. Where a matter can be settled by agreement, that is very often faster, cheaper, and less damaging than litigating it — and we will say so.

Divorce

Petitions and responses, from uncontested applications through to defended proceedings.

Division of property

The matrimonial home, land, pensions, businesses, and assets held overseas.

Maintenance

Spousal and child maintenance — applications, variations, and enforcement.

Custody & access

Arrangements for children, including where one parent lives abroad.

Cohabitation & separation agreements

Recording what has been agreed, clearly enough to hold.

Mediation

A facilitated route to settlement, conducted by a CEDR-accredited mediator.

What to prepare

  • Marriage certificate, and birth certificates for any children.
  • A short chronology — dates of marriage, separation, and any previous proceedings.
  • A picture of the finances: income, property, debts, pensions, on both sides so far as you know.
  • Any agreement already reached, written or not.
  • Court documents you have been served with, if proceedings have started.

Discretion

Everything you tell us is privileged and stays within the chambers. Consultations can be taken by telephone or video if attending in person is difficult, and correspondence can be directed to an address of your choosing.
